Is your Townhouse on the Beach?
Assateague Island in Virginia is a U.S. National Seashore, and is
not developed. Other than Park Service facilities (Visitor Center,
bathhouses, parking), there is no other development on the beach.
There is just a big, beautiful beach. All
lodging, restaurants, and other facilities are on the island of
Chincoteague, which does not face the ocean.
Our place is 4 miles from the beach--and easy
bike ride since the entire area is flat. Back

Do You Allow Pets?
Sorry, no. You should know the National Park Service does not
allow pets anywhere on Assateague Island or in the Wildlife
Refuge, not even if kept in cars. In addition,
Chincoteague's Memorial Park does not allow pets. What this means
is that you'd end up locking your pet in a strange place and
leaving it. We wouldn't do that to our pets. Back
